“Last year’s rebellion had been terrifying and had made Bran take a stand against slavery”

So if anyone’s wondering, he’s stated as anti slavery. No mention of how he exactly made his “fortune” in Barbados before he “took a stand” however. I assume we’re not meant to question it but if the author mentions it and doesn’t elaborate I fear there’s only certain conclusions to draw.
