I know Cherryh doesn't hold hands, but jeez, I'm over 100 pages in with only a surface understanding. Maybe I should've just stuck with Hellburner and pretended it wasn't a sequel?

James S.A. Corey duo are definitely fans of this series, holy wow.

Ben is a real piece of work.
