Picked up the first 4 parts of this as part of a free kindle anthology. Reached chapter 8 of part 1 really quite enjoying it so far

An interesting beginning

The characters are going down River A on the way to join River B.

Then somehow partway along they are going down River B on the way to join River A (the names have been switched).

And they appear to be rowing facing the wrong way (towards the bow), as well.

Just sloppy overall.

Reading this as part of the Sword and Magic box set, but will rate and review separately here, since I probably won't read all the books in that set.

Commas are a problem (before the main verb, before "that," missing before terms of address, splicing together sentences). There are a few homonym errors, a dangling modifier, the usual stuff. Borderline spoiled protagonist (people help him for no real reason).
