Levine's introduction is God-awful. What was needed was someone who actually held to the Leninism Lukacs did, not some Western Hegelian anti-Leninist who promotes the "Engelsism" myth.

Lukács' essay is interesting, albeit rushed and a bit uneven. But my god the fact that the editors included a 60 page dogshit essay in this 170 page book is irritating. The author, some windbag professor goes on tangents about definitions and historical factoids. Also, the editing and translation are awful. They both contain horrendous errors, awkward phrasing, and grammar that even a child would be ashamed of...
