At this point, I kinda hate everyone in this book except Fannie

love the way the author is world building and the fact that the main women’s names are Ethel and Noon… it doesn’t get better. and i LOVE books set in 20th century black america

OMGGHGGGGG major plot event! Liz is MENTALLY ILL likeeeee omg when did she do that to Fannie, it’s about to get real 😭

Ethel coming back is so tea. Like this is going to shake things up for sure on top of the tension that’s already there. The whole family is a hot mess and Willie Mann is trifling but when are men not lol. The imagery of the colors not just in this chapter but throughout is 😘 *chefs kiss* likeee Fannies yellow, Ethel’s red, and club royales blue air all make so much sense
