Be cheerful also, and seek neither external help nor the tranquility that others give.
A man then must stand upright, not be kept upright by others.
Be happy for yourself and do not rely on others to make you happy. Perhaps happiER. This doesn't mean never rely on others or be a loner. Stoicism is all about personal interactions and our relation to Nature. Take when it's given and accept when it's not given.
