We were using the parliamentary system to restrain the Government from legislating with neither mandate nor majority, except that of the disreputable pacy with the Liberals… [whom NT despises!]

Amazing how ‘topical’, in a sense, are the political (partisan/cultural) points that exercised Tebbit in the late 60s and early 70s when he was about to enter politics. Immigration, over-reliance on America, a welfare state that did not really encourage/facilitate work, “Marxist” influence in education and local government… It’s as if he’s producing ‘heterodox’ podcasts in 2026!
