Status Updates From No Justice: One White Polic...

This is for sure proving to be a difficult read. I am an emotional reader, so I'm taking my time and making sure not to miss anything.

"Accountability and losing his job were the punishment I wanted for Cotton, and also Edwards, who's incompetence led me to being shot. I didn't think that was unreasonable or revenge tainted. It was simply the best outcome for all of us, mainly because both Edwards and Cotton had revealed that in the heat of the tough job of police work, neither was capable of making good decisions."

The not guilty verdict in the Castile case was beyond infuriating. All this evidence, dash cam footage, and it wasn't enough. What will ever be enough?

The Philando Castile story especially breaks my heart. He did everything he was supposed to do, he complied with every direction, and he was still murdered. This one hits especially close to home, as I was hoping at least the state I love so much could be immune to this madness.

"I was able to make sure to keep any impulse responses, you know, like being the stereotype of the angry black man, out of the public eye, and my frustrations were only meted out in privacy."

It shouldn't have to be this way. He was unjustly shot by a police officer. He should be allowed to be angry without it framing his story in a negative way.
