Status Updates From Native American Mythology

The author saying that the first reliable accounts of Native American mythology & religion came from priests/missionaries determined to eradicate that very mythology & religion. I knew i would need a grain of salt for this book given it's first print, but I may need a whole shaker.

This book is part of my research for the historical novel I'm writing. One character will be living with the Plains Indians, and I need to know what they believed. It's fascinating, especially since this author covers tribes from various regions and shows how their beliefs coincide and differ. It's also fascinating to find parallels with my own Christian faith, and to realize that there is a shared wisdom.
