This was a confusing read to begin with. It has the mothers POV and than another POV that takes a minute to catch onto who it is and what’s going on. It felt like the story jumped all over the place and went from one wild story to the next.

I figured out the several names.
Mercedes, Gretchen, Violet, Starr, Julie are all alter egos.
I believe the dad might have had something to do with the abduction. Otherwise the man is a rando they knew back then.
FJulie (fake Julie) is going to freak once she learns the money is gone.
Anna is divorcing Tom, Jane will have to step in when push comes to shove.

The change in POV confused me for a bit. Several names introduced like Charlotte. I still don’t know who that is. Ana is the mom. Gretchen is the Julie impostor.
