Hi - I'm 66% through My Earl the Spy by Audrey Harrison, narrated by Melanie Fraser on my Audible app.

This audible has sound effect that can be heard faintly at intervals such as music 🎶 at a ball, clopping horses when h is being transported to prison and echoing voices for dialog in a cell.

oh for f*cks sake. Really? right to the end with this BS between the MCs?
"He'll tire of me and take mistresses". "She doesn't love me". Wah wah wah.
It's bloody pathetic.

enjoying this, but I do think the Earl is a shitty spy. Hope he retires after this. Get a wee bit fed up with Milly's goody two shoes attitude when under pressure. But overall it's a fun read. The reader sucks though. I get confused as to who is speaking and she makes milly's voice sound the same whether she's walking about the village or stuffed into a small room full of rats. (roll eyes).

I get the feeling that it might have been best to read the first book in the series before this one. But it isn't necessary. There are a lot of references to what went on in that book... in fact it's a wee bit repetitive. Millie is 28 so firmly on the shelf and a self possessed yet sweet natured woman. The Earl (Henry) is a conceited snob. Not sure why yet... He delights in throwing Millie off balance... grow up!
