Much better the second time through, with me actually paying attention and being able to pick up on all the hints Lovecraft sets up.

Okay rereading b/c my ass was NOT paying attention to the first story at all. So let’s try again!!

The Dunwich Horror — interesting. Such a good example of how is more in horror, and how waiting to reveal key information was crucial to building and maintaining suspense

Ah. Five minutes in and the racism is already apparent.

This narrator was made for these stories. I think his voice might be more engaging than the stories themselves. He somehow feels like the victim and perpetrator of the stories at the same time.

I read the first novella “The Dunwhich Horror” just bracing myself for Lovecraft to be appallingly racist but he stayed in his lane!! This story was so good too, made me really look at it and think Wow this would change the game if no one had written this sort of thing before
