could’ve listened to 3 audiobooks in the time it takes to finish this one ugh

i figure i put this onto tbr because “magical realism” but this is not very magical. only in the vaguest sense. the main problem is that it’s BORING.

the only thing that was interesting before was the stuff about some prof with a theory of increasingly bigger worlds as you move inwards. sigh.

also there’s a channeling thing happening here but it’s not treated with any weight it just happens casually in the background.

books where not a lot happens can be fine… when the prose is really good (i can’t judge in this case because the narration is uninspiring) or when the characters are really interesting or endearing or at least funny. there is NONE OF THAT HERE!!!!!!

surely this book doesn’t need to be 25 hours / 500+ pages long GOD

maybe would be better in print or maybe just with a more engaging narrator

as always i read the stuff on my tbr added years ago and im always going why was this on my tbr??? im still not seeing why right now.

if i had more time i would definitely sit and read more books but as i need hands free stuff… sigh. anyways not sure it’s doing it for me or anyone in audiobook.

ooooooh dear this is going to take me a loooong time.
