I get what you're saying but I disagree with the conclusion - vampires may see humas as prey because they, more than other TI, feed from them and need them to survive but that's the difference - most TI see humans as a side snack and when they're done, the human is dead. For vampires, humas are like... cows =D, they should be interested in keeping them around, alive. Not really a prey. Domestic animals.

There's nothing inherently wrong with short chapters but this is too much - instead of one tense scene, we get to see... depending on where you start counting, one very important scene was broken into 5 POVs (Vicky, Angie, Grimshaw, Julian, Ilia) that actually overlapped (!!) and switched places and why would someone do this?!

Oh no, the main human is being left alone, the doors are locked, the intuit has a bad feeling, nothing bad could possibly happen when she knows it's coming, right?? I've seen this one before and it's not any more interesting the second time around.

This is the kind of book where the main character is told to "get over herself" and I agree with the sentiment. She is a good main character by several standards but like Meg, she can be a bit too...
