I don’t like him, he’s hypocritical about lying, and tries to manipulate her too much. She sometimes seems to have a brain any other times not.
There is no chemistry between them. She has a batter connection with Lame Bird but he’s a teen.

He says “humph!” way too much. He sounds like a petulant child. I’m not feeling any connection between the two.

I need the pave to place city up a little bit. Too much internal dialogue.

The must hav pe walked half way across Kansas with her constantly following him and calling him “sir” while he walks away from her.

I don’t want to say she TSTL, but she’s becoming annoying, she needs to be bent over his knees and spanked. Or perhaps a Rhet Butler moment of someone telling her she needs to be kiss by someone who knows how.

Depressing knowing these things happened, and though this book is fiction, there were real people killed on both sides.
Seems very relevant to what’s currently going on in our country.

I think it’s wonderful the author is using native language but since we’re only seeing the story so far from one POV I hav pep no idea what the brothers are saying.
