Here we go!

How do you know you're falling in love? It's when you look at someone and you think, I can never let you go.

I love this book...Please don't break me, book. I can see the can of whoop-ass about to open any second. Too much tension has built up.

"Love the sinner" may be the most condescending phrase in the English language.

"I'm going to call your parents, see if I can talk them back into their senses."
"I don't want to go back there. They don't want me."
-This is sad and frustrating, and the worst part is this still happens to kids every day.

"Don't underestimate them, kid," said Dylan. "They may be religious fanatics, but they're good at what they do. They make their voices heard. They vote. They get people elected to office who enact laws and appoint judges to uphold their views."
-Which is why we have to do the same.
It's just too bad the fanatics give a bad impression of religion.

"Things have been lousy. I'm confused."
"Teenager, thy name is confusion."
-It IS!

"You realize that the ultimate goal of the gay agenda is to alter the institution of marriage as set forth by God and forever undermine society's traditional moral values?"
"I do."
"Follow me. There's some paperwork involved."
-Dylan is clearly fuckin' with the kid and it's making me laugh, but I cannot suspend disbelief about Jericho deciding to go gay to correct his wrongdoing.

"Being gay is tough," Dylan said, his voice suddenly hard with anger. "And people doing what you did don't make it any easier."
"Then why flaunt it?"
"I wasn't flaunting anything!" he snapped back. "I was living my life, just like everybody else."

I am not a pretty weeper. My entire face leaks like a broken faucet. Along with my tears, my nose runs, and I drool. Not even Mom will hug me when I'm crying.

They were freedom-loving Americans, by God, and the Constitution granted them the right to honor their southern heritage. What better display of good old American ideals could there possibly be than a public celebration of racial terrorism and mass treason?
-I LOVE the snark in this book...despite it feeling out of character for the MC.
