Status Updates From The Grimhaven Disaster

He cowered there, hearing the ragged breathing through their burned lungs, smelling their decay, which saturated the room's dense air.
With his eyes closed, he wrapped his frail arms over his knees, which he held close to his chest, shivering. Papers from a nearby desk fluttered to the floor. Squelching footsteps seemed to get quieter.
Then they were leaving?
Silence.
"Urr."

"Do you enjoy anal sex? Any time I've ever done it, it felt like taking a shit up the wrong way."

The Grimhaven Nuclear Plant's structure—with its lights beaming, domed silos and chunky concrete office blocks streaked with efflorescence—was dead, menacing and rich with the sterile bleakness of a favourite Call of Duty map.

Largely mixed so far. It states my list for gore, but... I think a novella is too short to truly instill the horror of what is happening here.

Gonna take a break from my NetGalleys for a few and give this one a quick read. Apparently this author is in the anthology I'll be reviewing later, too. So, I'm stoked!
