“Why am I acting this way? This is an interesting concept. I can understand why people were desperate to give away their sorrows, even if it made them into an unfeeling person.
I have read Jane’s three other historical novels and have enjoyed them all. I admit I am struggling with this one though. It is slower than the rest and very repetitious. The same question is asked on every page.

I read the sample and it is intriguing. How the author covered a lot of detail with questions that were self-answered isn't my favorite, but I want to see what happens next, so I will read on.

Well, school started for my kids this week, and I homeschool, so I haven't been able to dedicate much time to reading yet. It's been slow going.
Not because of the book!! I wish I could read 24/7! So far I'm liking the story. I really like the concept, that's why I started reading this.
I'm in chapter 7, its going back and forth between the peddler, Jean, and the the grief stricken woman, Celeste.
