For a book about drugs this is insanely boring. I don’t even know if I can finish all 83 pages.

Huxley discusses how the brain is actively perceiving everything; sensations, memories, perceptions. However, our survival is contingent on a bottleneck that funnels reality and cultivates consciousness. Mescaline, a psychedelic, interferes with this bottleneck, creating sensations and interference with consciousness. In neuroscience, this may be called the "default mode network" and could also explain psychosis.

Slowly getting trough this book because there are SO many words I’ve never read before
