I was optimistic about this book (pun intended) but so far I have been a bit disappointed by the depth of its arguments. The primary loop has been "people say things are bad "followed by the response "they aren't that bad with shallow proof. A core argument against fears about bio terrorism has been that guns are more efficient at killing people than pathogens, which feels unproductive.
