Status Updates From Wolf Children, The

This rather crawled to a fairly obvious conclusion which in all honesty made the ending a bit of a letdown (in terms of a crime story). As I know this was written as the second of a trilogy, in hoping the third book will pick up on some of the more interesting/personal storylines. Will get to that last one after a little break methinks.....

Like the chief inspector's investigation I am inching along with this one.......

Not sure where this fits; not really crime, not really historical fiction, a little bit personal drama? That was to be expected though based on the first book, which is very evidently planned as a trilogy.
Will push on with it as it's interesting, albeit a little slow....

This is moving along slowly but steadily, in the style of the first book in the series. There doesn't seem to be as much going on in the background this time though - if you don't include Insp Stave's personal/love life?

Just starting on another in this excellent historical/crime fiction series - looks to be a bit of a slow burn as well.
