Beautiful. (And the last pages were superb again, visually.)

On a side note, 4some reason, the collection o/t issues in this TPB seems 2 have Bn assembled w/more--or different--care4layout & branding. Perhaps b/c this series was published sometime later than others? There=less diverse/chaotic/primary colours in the finishing o/t book (as in art!), which feels more mature/less cheap?

The 4th issue (/5 total) shows dicidedly different work (by other artist); & parts o/t 5th issue seem a mix from the various styles. While they do try2emulate the 1st issues' esthetics, the discrepancy=a bit vexing. This explains Y I seemed2recall this series Bing accused of inconsistent graphics: it's true. However, all=still well above my personal taste threshold; & enough credits were-- [Field2small, 2B c'ued.]

Page/strip composition, @times, feels innovative; not just 4going traditional panel borders but also showing characters multiple times as in time lapse, 2 poetic effect. Yet this may not be as unique as I feel it 2B; think not.
Is it the sparse (as in: restrained, realistic) & well-chosen colour set used p/ page, which makes this whole book so enthralling 2me? (Aside from a4mentioned superb, sketchy line art, that=.)

I can't help 2 keep analysing my reaction 2 this specific comics chapter. As annoying as I find KJA's prose/novel work 2B @times, this=where he mostly shines. Just a few hints of trademark repetitiveness & oversimplification.
Art: not only R the expressions of characters pencilled w/ awesome artfulness; the simple, sketchlike, yet very perceptive style works equally well 2 depict ships & e.g. Rhen Var's architecture.

This=like coming home. Having joyfully read the previous entries in the series (w/ hit&miss art), starting this final volume immediately felt as special as it was the 2nd time(~2002). 1st time[~1998], I seem 2 recall, I didn't care much 4 theartwork. Go figure! This then=my 3rd or 4th reading at least; but it's been over a decade or so.
Ever since the early '00s, I've been in love w/ the emotive visuals of this tome.
