Status Updates From Harley Quinn, Vol. 5: Vote ...

Notes:
(1) The four-year Conner/Palmiotti run ends limping to the finish line.
- The last two issues are just random scenes and gags given the bare skeleton of plot but without any meat on the bones.
(2) Conner and Palmiotti make another cameo appearance, which I'm guessing might be an alternate/extended version of the first.
- Sadly, it's the most notable thing about this.

Notes:
(1) What we have here is a textbook example of fridging, albeit gender-swapped.
- For the uninitiated, "fridging," named for the time Green Lantern found his girlfriend stuffed in a fridge, is a feminist literary critique suggesting that superhero love interests aren't characters in their own right, but only important inasmuch as they're objects to fret and cry over.

Notes:
(1) This was going decently well, but then the third issue spun it back to the same tired blathering on about personal mundanities.
- I just don't get Mason as a love interest. If he was ever interesting, I can't remember. And I read everything!
(2) Dreams and hallucinations are my pet peeve. I can't say that enough!
- That said, this one at least is key to the plot.

Notes:
(1) I hope this leans into its recent form of bawdy humor (more physical comedy, less jokes and puns) and extreme violence.
- Not that I'm personally inclined to either but the series hasn't exactly been at peak creativity hitherto and it's at least something interesting.
(2) This being politically themed, I hope they aren't tempted to shoehorn in real-life politics.

Harley is caught in a brawl during her roller skating event. Red Tool, Ivy and the others help. As Harley starts her campaign, Scarecrow is called in to try to stop her.
