Status Updates From The Bounce in the Captain's...

This is quite an enjoyable and easy read so far.

This one has been on my tbr for ages and I'm finally starting it. Looks decent so far, although I'm not very far in yet. This is one of my Mountain Climbing Challenge books (Mount TBR LOL).

Usually I love it when the heroes manho-chickens come home to roost. But not in this case. 2 years back then was at least twice that. I just can't decide if I like lady bramly or not. More 'not' I think. And his friends and brother. Even his GD sister!!! wtf. why does everyone have not want them to marry???

Damn... Guy has the worst parents (step mother) and older brother. No wonder he rarely visits home. Thank goodness Emma is so level headed!

phew! thank goodness tgis book isnt predictable. i was afraid emma was going to be blackmailed.but she's too canny for that.

Well that was a declaration of courtship on the same level as Darcy's F'd up proposal. I expected a reply in the same vein as Elizabeth Bennet's, but once again Emma surprises me.
The blurb had me thinking their characters would be more visa versa. But she is the studious, serious one and he is the flirtatious one with an impulsive spirit.

2 years later they meet again. She is the governess of his younger half siblings. He is less self absorbed and tired of frivilous women who all appear the same. And yet its not that he now notices her, because both of them have secretly carried a token of the other. For what reason they cannot readily say.
The POV moves from him to her with her's being a bit more often. She is now more sure of herself, but serious.

She met Guy (sortof) when she was twelve and then found that he was the brother of one of her two best friends; georgina when they met. Long holding a torch for him (although she doesnt see it just so), she is tongue tied in his presence. They all go to a ball and her plight is worsened by an allergy to the perfume her friends thrust upon her and the hairstyle that didn't make the journey is augmented by fruit.

Starts out rather Dickensian or even shades of Jane Eyre. She is the forced from infancy into servitude to the evil chick who runs the lady's school she was sent to (as a bastard) by her unknown father.
15 years later, two other girls arrive who take her under her wing and they all become fast friends. But her early years have left her shy and her intelligence makes her sound almost autistic.
