This book is like crack

Every time I read the name "Quinton", I keep going back to The Sound and The Fury or Absalom, Absalom!

Maybe the name predisposes the character to being unhinged and more than a little unsettling.

I put one foot in front of the other and forced myself to walk deeper into the woods. There were footprints in the dirt, boots, big enough to be male.
