Status Updates From Une saison de machettes

I'm not sure if I want or should finish this book. Hearing from the killers is giving me a bit of background info and perspective on the genocide, but their retellings are so violent and callous.

It feels like I'm experiencing an internet shock video in literary form; only this video isn't closed after viewing 1 frame.

I've just gotten past a bit of exposition, learning the names and personalities of the killers who will be giving commentary. They have just mentioned their first times killing during the genocide and they're very matter of fact. It's more difficult to read than I expected.
