Status Updates From Huesos cruzados

Reading this book fills me with immense pride in being Somali. Despite the harrowing events that mirror current day occurrences in Somalia, the author (who is Somali btw) excels at critiquing the situation without demonizing his (our) people. It's rare to see my people represented (and so well at that) in literature so this personally significant to me. I feel very connected to this story so cannot wait to continue!

I’m getting increasingly frustrated as I read by the fact that this book doesn’t have better reviews. Thank god I didn’t check its average rating before I decided to buy it
