Kinda boring

Sets the scene of a post-nihilism, atomised, neoliberal west: religions dwindle, institutions fail individuals. I agree with controlling what you can, but hope readers don’t overlook rebuilding institutions. Change at consciousness level helps regain composure, but doesn’t solve the hollowing out of communal infrastructure. The advice ✅doesn’t require this western premise and applies to any period or society.

Love this book. I own a copy, but lent it out and am doubly keen to get it back. Listening to him narrate in his Hungarian accent is a pleasure.

The author thinks engaging w fictional narratives is a waste of time. That’s all I have to say. Speaks for itself.
