There are definitely a few sentences here and there within the first chapter that are a product of the time, but the content is very insightful. He points out that most of us let external decide whether our day, our effort, and our worth “counted”. From childhood, we’re conditioned to ask: Was this approved? Did it lead somewhere later? Will this pay off? Our motivation becomes deferred/outsourced.

Just has that “written in the 90s” vibe, but the content is interesting.
