It is over 40 years since I read this for the HSC. At one level it has dated - the release of information from the archives of Eastern Europe was still to come. However, its fidelity to following the evidence available as the basis of the conclusions and its refusal to be the mouthpiece for any particular “framing” of history, remind me of what an honest academic approach involves.
