Androgen levels (such as testosteron) rise during puberty. It acts on the skins oils and makes your sebaceous glands bigger, especially on areas in wich there is a high density of oil-producing glands (face, back and chest). That can mentally lead to low self esteem and an altered body image. The ignorance of that could be detrimental. You also lose more water through your skin (sweating, look up CAH).
