I am SCREAMING!!!!!

I’ve been reading this on small doses and I’m not following it. Like, I don’t understand a single thing that is happening.

“Isn’t he in a gang?”

“No he’s a businessman who we pay to get really good fake licenses and passports”

lol

The flashback of 17 yo heroine does not feel like a sheltered teenager growing up in a cult. And the depiction of dynamics in said cult is kind of shallow. I think the author did not do her due research about this part but wrote based on sheer imagination with stereotypes

The writing does not match the good idea of an undercover cop approaching a supposedly brainwashed ex-cultist to prevent a potential massacre. I keep getting distracted.

A bit too cheesy

Now the hero joins a typical team just like any other police procedural, consisting of a jaded ex-cop, a mad veteran, a recruited computer geek with criminal records, a dog, a shrink, and the leader who coordinates them all. And yeah, there is one token female figure, the shrink.

I’m taking a wilding guess that the frequent lack of filter every time heroine speaks is clinical.
