I get frustrated with authors who give lip service to supporting survivors who have no need for ‘redeemed’ bible verses interpretation (“For some of those I’ve spoken with, [the bible] is the literature of their trauma and I feel no need to redeem it for these individuals”) but then don’t give a fucking ‘if that’s you, skip to [whatever] section to avoid me attempting to defend Paul’ warning!

The audiobook does not read footnotes that could be important to if you don’t know much about this religion.

Decided to diversify my TBR with some "non-fiction"... I will say, it's going better than expected. I'm only an hour into this audiobook and I am hanging on every word because it is 💯 my experience... Based off this book so far, it's possible that I might need therapy 🤔 😬
