The latter half of AVoS is just as long and drawn-out as I feared. The first three books were more tightly paced and had stronger themes, but the narrative really peters out once Darktail is dead. The complete shift in focus to Skyclan makes the two halves feel disconnected, and boy am I tired of the constant back-and-forth over whether Skyclan is going to stay at the lake or not.

For what it's worth, I still want to punt Tigerstar into the lake
