Status Updates From The Flavour of Spice

While reading this book, I asked my mom what spice she associates with my personality and she said cardamom (elaichi). She also gave such a sweet reasoning for it, that I didn't have the heart to tell her it's my least favorite spice 💀

Who knew that the redder the soil, the more yellow the turmeric.

I'm not feeling very confident about the author's sources when it comes to the history of a particular spice (and I've read only 3 chapters so far: chili, cumin & turmeric) because there are no valid sources referred as of yet. But the anecdotes are super interesting and the recipes look amazing. Can't wait to try some of them out!

Encountering "Kalpasi" spice for the first time. Never used it in any recipe.
Wasn't even aware of existence of such a thing.
