So we’re summarizing my summer reading existential crisis with this one, got itttt. I fear I also fell victim to many of the things Wolf is talking about in these letters. I’m very disappointed in myself.

Halfway through, and I’m not sure I’m going to finish this one. While it’s giving me a lot to think about and reflect on (especially as I prepare for another school year), the tone and writing style are increasingly grating and condescending. Wolf is trying to show off, I think; the writing is so indulgent — full of constant (CONSTANT) name-dropping, quotes, and some truly convoluted analogies. Disappointing
