So far this book has been quite a cozy read. It speaks of the
temporality of connections when one travels abroad - some for the first time from their hometown, some as simple as spending a day at Changi Airport. To me, an achingly calmative read.

My heart simply broke at “Photograph, Myanmar, 2013.” Like Agnes, I had a sinking feeling as the tour seller divulges his woes, but his sorrows are now immortalised on the pages in my hands. The priority of empathy over personal convenience is explored here as well: after learning of the tour seller’s tragedies, Agnes is wrecked with guilt over her earlier haggling with him, and ruminates over how she could help.
