As kids, we are taught good v bad, right from wrong, left v right et al... at some point, we begin to encounter exceptions and begin to traverse events in the grey areas of life. Some become adept at doing this; at realizing nothing is as it seems and we have to dig a little deeper, ask more questions or perhaps listen or observe more closely. The rest of us are still working on learning the nuances.

Anyone interested in international relations should read this. In-your-face events with layer-upon-layer of innuendo, subtle clues and the quagmire that is cultural identity in the 2000s. Thinking politics is black and white? Read this. THIS is politics in all its uncomfortable reality. Personally, I'm finding this right up there with Len Deighton, LeCarre and Clancy. Fast-paced read, paradigm shattering! Love it!

Just started this morning; had to re-read, as it had been a while. This is turning out to be an excellent read. Worried about how many pages (getting into Dostoevsky territory here with 648 pages). But it's passing quickly. Enormous amount of information: had to take a few notes to keep things straight, but other than my limited brain capacity, this is turning out to be a really great book.

Curious to see where this one goes. Started reading before Christmas, set aside. Not something to read in bed. Too intense.
