GD > HK: Don’t see In Cold Blood. Do ponder Borges’ remark (viva voce, to R.G. Stern, in Chicago) that the climax of Psycho is the killing of the fly in the final seconds.

GD, 1.29.63: reading A Rebours & The Childermass as retellings of Flaubert's Temptation of St Anthony: "Somewhere this theme got started in modern literature: Milton's Regained? Don Quijote? ... It's absolutely this book's fault (and clearly not my own, whatsoever...) that I now have a huge pile of modern poetry sitting on my bedside table. I already have enough to read but GD & HK keep adding more to the list.

Into 1963...
The list of ‘secondary materials’ to this read grows. Looks like I’ll be reading The Stoic Comedians after I’ve done my [Watt]s and [Comment c'est]s.
Re-doing Pound, from not being into it, to being into it. Zukofsky, Olson (this time being really into it)... whatever else I pick up to follow.
