Everything went dark and blurry. Turned off. Finally. After decades of constant buzzing, writhing, regrouping, and clashing, the processes in Simon’s brain limped and then halted entirely. His consciousness became a warm black cave where only a few broken words echoed around in the vast empty space. Words like more, please and yes. Time was nonexistent.

The sadness flowed through Simon’s veins slow and thick like mud. He thought maybe his limbs would break under the weight of his desperate longing. When something hurt this much, there had to be some tangible consequence to it. Simon eyed his arms and legs half expecting blood to start seeping through the fabric. But nothing showed on the outside. He was embarrassingly healthy and intact.

This multiple pov without warning are confusing me…..

The more Simon thrashed around, the deeper he sank into the blind heavy wetness. It seeped into his pores, glued his eyes and ears shut. It got into his mouth robbing him of taste. It stuck to his fingers tarnishing his touch, blackened his lungs and poisoned his mind. So, this was how it felt, then. The Big D.
