Mandel's introduction is way too technical and more or less presupposes having read the book already. Kind of defeats the purpose of an introduction to a difficult text.

Formulaic compared to the first volume, but just as indispensable: how does the dynamic inner logic of growth and crisis relate logically to that of circulation of commodities beyond the factory through the circuit of money-capital, productive capital and commodity capital; the turnover of capital and its contracting and expanding periodic crises; and the reproduction & circulation of total social capital?
