I think we have a banger on our hands

as i read these poems, there is one thing that stands out to me greatly: the prominence of political and humanitarian issues that we are still fighting today. in 2002, spahr talks about the ongoing war between palestine and israel, but she also talks about the unfair government of venezuela - both things that have been consuming our news, today. it's heartbreaking that we are still fighting battles from decades ago.
