There are some pretty great and bizarre scenes, actually.

Basically I'm finished. It was missing 5 pages so I had to go over to Amazon and pay $2 for the Kindle Edition of LUST IS A WOMAN so I could read the entire novel.
Review to follow. Hard to review because although flawed, it's a pretty entertaining read.

Much better than I recall. It's weak Willeford but it's unmistakably Willeford.
Will poor little Maria actually sell her virginity? We've already gotten a hint back in the first chapter but most readers at the time of publication were probably too shocked by the goings-on at McKay's Everglades retreat to remember that far back.

I'd love to see a True Romance type comic book made of this novel.
The woeful tale of a girl who makes bad decisions after a couple of bottles of champagne.

Amazing dive into sleaze. Always a promise; always a tease.
This is so weirdly Willeford.
Much better this second read.

I neglected to mention that this is my second time reading this novel. I had completely forgotten it.
That's memorable it isn't.
This is really a tough haul but after reading "Willeford" by Don Hereron, I felt I just had to give this one another shot.

A gift from a Goodreads friend.
But... lawd almighty!
Tawdry doesn't ever begin to describe this classic Willeford.
Have mercy!

Warning: Virginity for sale!
Book cover credits "Charles Willford" but it's unmistakably Willeford.
Right down to the depiction of an alcoholic bar-b-que ribs-crazed slattern.
Fun stuff!
