"The blacks came to Harlem. They're still there. I'd like to see a white man move to Eighth Avenue and 116th Street (Auletta 134).
Does anyone know any white men who have moved onto Eighth Avenue and 116th Street since the 2000s?

Funny yet sad passage:
"Harlem is no more dangerous than Madison Avenue," he asserts. "You can walk through streets and it's like an oasis. Harlem is going through a renaissance."
"It didn't look like that to me last weekend," Painter says disdainfully.
