...end of Book VI . Best section so far, good philosophizing and nice bit of intrigue.. still icky though.

...end of Book IV, is he actually going to hide the reveal (which was never a secret from the reader) until the very end of this 2nd volume? ugh...

It all becomes clear now- this is the sequel to Ernest Maltravers. No wonder I felt like there was a backstory I had been ignorant of!

I wish the author would get on with it now but that was not the style at the time the author was writing.

I wish I could find out more about this book online.
