Notes:
(1) There's a debate in the ending arc about whether superheroes should take political sides (on alien worlds).
- Jessica says no because situations are complex and require context they don't have.
- Simon says they as brown people know racism and need to fight it everywhere.
- This would be decent nuance if Jessica didn't ultimately admit that Simon's totally right.

Notes:
(1) This "Bolphunga" two-parter is where it became crystal clear that Seeley's writing the book as a tongue-in-cheek comedy.
- While not full-on breaking the fourth wall, it plays with tropes and intentional incongruities that come off like a sketch show parody.
(2) So, is Simon religious or not? Because he's reciting Islamic prayers but also having one-night stands.

Notes:
(1) The first arc here's a two-parter about how blindly stubborn religious folk are.
- It's sort of a play on how Jehovah's Witnesses refuse life-saving blood transfusions. In this case, a species refuses to evacuate their doomed planet because it's also their god.
- There are definitely good anti-religious stories, but this isn't one of them. There's no nuance here.

Notes:
(1) So, this is when Sam Humphries and Tim Seeley swapped series. The former went over to write "Nightwing" and the latter took over "Green Lanterns."
- To me, Seeley's one of those writers who you don't remember reading much of, but you actually have. He's solid but forgettable.
- That said, It seems to me "Green Lanterns" got the better end of the trade. We'll see.

Jessica was white for the first issue. That was weird. Also how are they supposed to hold down a job when they need to drop everything to be superheroes? Can’t the justice league have like a stapen or something?
