I am impressed by how serious and complex the storyline gets, having all the viewpoints be either Axis or Soviet results in a certain amount of deliberate values dissonance to a 21st century liberal Western reader like me - makes it a somewhat emotionally distant read at times, though

the artwork is also gorgeous beyond the artist's "only six faces" character designs

the artwork is absolutely fantastic in particular the aircraft drawn in loving detail, including some models of both German and Soviet planes that aren't depicted that often in modern Western media about WW2
