Boring. I am 30% into it and it is the definition of a yawner. I am sorry to be so blunt but there isn’t really a polite way to say it. Good idea for a plot but it needs a little something to put the story together.

The human eye is a truly marvellous thing, so singular, so exquisite, capable of such power and variety of movement. Compare sight with all the other senses - touch and taste may be exercised only by contact with our bodies, smell in close proximity, hearing at a further but measurable distance. The eye, however. can look to the heavens and see the stars. It is like a small camera obscura.

I think, you know, that I do have it in me to be a great author, only whenever I put pen to paper I can't think what to write.
