It's not until the middle or so of the book that she has anything positive to bring to the table about her son's learning style. But it's marred by so much negativity (such as in my last update) and the 'me me me' mindset..

Only 7% in and I've already highlighted some very...wtf statements and paragraphs.
"He was special in a bad way."
"And beneath my frozen motherly facade I became lost in morbid fantasy--if only I could slice open the skull of one of these other kids I could carve out my son's defective brain and exchange it with another child's." <--- I could scarcely believe I read this with my own eyes.

This book is horrific. Utterly reprehensible, and if the parents of this kid aren't ALSO autistic I'll eat my damned socks.
We need so much further information and study on female autistics, so many autistics were missed in the 80s, especially female ones.
