Time for my yearly reread of this smoking hot Christmas read. 🥵

This has Thanksgiving AND Christmas?!

This wasn’t a bad book but it wasn’t exceptional either. The MCs were cute together though I didn’t really feel attached to them. The insta-lust ruined it a bit for me and the inner monologues were endless. I would have rather read short scenes than the MCs remembering back to what happened and rushing through them in a paragraph. I sort of expected more from this. It was spicy, but I needed more romance.

Okay, I was wrong. The third act drama didn’t go as I expected so I’m glad. It would have been way too cliche.

I don’t get why she is surprised about his father’s request. She literally asked at the beginning if her father had gone to the Chief when Cole explained that her father wasn’t happy with her. Literally on like page 20 or something. These are the type of third act break-ups/ dramas I don’t like. She will not believe him and he will have to grovel even though the whole thing is absolutely unnecessary.

This story has potential, but it is very heavy in telling instead of showing. Pages upon pages of inner monologues of things that happened. They could have been showcased through short little scenes instead of recounting them as events the MC is remembering. That could have given the story more depth.
