Status Updates From Ran y el mundo gris 5

Honestly not much plot. We waited for the bugs to escape but the storytelling is getting obviously better.

29 - Zen attacks the bug ball with his mallet after his crows went to war against it. Ran spots Otaro and pulls him away... but can she save him?

28 - the people are evacuated but its Hibi telling Ran he likes her with all her faults that I loved. Strong otherworldly people are called to the city to help. The bugs will be there soon.

Zen goes to the mayor to evacuate the city!

27 - Ran watches the foxes battle the bugs looking for Otaro. Finally he is revealed and the bugs for into a huge bubble and head to the human world with Otaro at the center.

The Storytelling is incredible. Subtle scenes that link together for a solid narrative! Why didn’t it flow like these before this volume?!

26 - Ran runs away and Hibi follows! She heads to the battle ground. The bugs keep getting free but the sorcerers’ magic keeps closing around them. The crows and foxes fight those that get free but Ran has made it hard on them taking away fire.

25 - Ran eventually learns about Otaro being the bag guy threatening them. I liked how Hibi was incorporated and Nio too. She told her it’s too late and he has to be burned. Ran wasn’t having that and killed all flames in the city.

The bonus story where Ran makes Nio big so she can take a bath is cute! Bromance but with girls.

Ran camps out with her brother Jin and Sango. It’s cute. The village is full of bugs... there will be war when they break out. A bunch of crow kids transfer to Ran’s school. They make her quiver and shiver...?!

We check in on the sisters who saved the villagers. The Dr feeds them with the help of a whole host of others.

We see after Jin shifted for the first time he stayed with a boy for 2 years when he rescued him. After beating some thieves he shifted back to human so had to go home. They met again in school! And are friends now.

The episode started off quite badly, but is now turning to the kind of reading that makes me wish I had bought the next volume earlier today...
